The
Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), bestowed by The
National Speakers Association, is the highest earned
designation in the speaking profession.
Fewer than eight percent of all NSA
members worldwide have earned the title.
Established in 1980, the CSP designation serves as an
internal measure of professional platform skill
and proven
speaking experience. To qualify, candidates must
meet a combination of educational, professional and performance standards.
In a five-year period, CSP candidates must serve at
least 100 different clients, give a minimum of 250 presentations
and earn 32 educational credits, which are given by attending NSA workshops,
conventions and single-focus labs.
Current NSA President Dave Gorden, CSP,
CPAE, states, "Earning your CSP takes hard work
and dedication. To a meeting planner, it serves as an insurance policy
showing that the speaker has withstood the test of time
and competency."
