FOR RELEASE: June 5 2002
Gwinnett Speaker Karla Brandau Featured at Global People Skills Conference
Conference Teaches Portable People Skills
Atlanta, Georgia, June 5, 2002 In todays marketplace, possessing
portable people skills can move your career skillfully from corporation
to corporation and from project to project and keep you employed. Portable
People Skills are a necessity! Lilburn resident, Karla Brandau will share
her expertise and address these skills at the upcoming Global People Skills
Conference 2002 on June 27th and 28th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the
World Trade Center Atlanta at 303 Peachtree Street NE.
Brandau says that organizational camaraderie and productivity involve
relating to others across a chasm of significant behavioral differences.
Improving your People Skills helps you figure out how to bridge
the gap between yourself and others, thereby making the organizational
climate more collaborative and focused on company goals.
Statistics show that about 80% of a workers time in an office setting
is spent communicating and much of that time is spent un-puzzling perceptions,
dissecting divergent views, figuring out unexpected responses, and straightening
out miscommunications that make temperatures rise.
The problem of people skills increases when a low understanding of cultural
differences exists. Cultural differences are noticeable whether your work
team is made up of people from California and New York or from Bosnia
and Brazil.
The Global People Skills Conference 2002 addresses cultural differences
and a host of other people skills that are valuable whether you are in
a leadership position, a project manager, or the manager of a virtual/global
team.
Since June is International People Skills Month, as declared by Chases
International Calendar of Events, the conference provides the right opportunity
to spend two power-packed days with experts like Brandau learning the
portable people skills that turn daily workplace interactions into business
and personal success.
